“How, with my team, did I optimize the quality of Club Med's data? ”

How does Nelson Fernandes, the Digital Analytics Manager at Club Med, manage to maintain excellence in data management while respecting regulatory constraints and minimizing costs?

A global leader in the tourism industry, Club Med makes extensive use of digital data to optimize the customer experience. However, managing this data faces major challenges, especially in terms of cost, regulatory compliance (such as the GDPR) and maintaining data quality in a rapidly changing technological environment.

Nelson joined Seenaptic! Automation offers him an effective solution to overcome these challenges. It thus improves data reliability and operational efficiency without compromising compliance.

Meeting with Nelson Fernandes, Digital Analytics Manager at Club Med

In a context where digitalization is crucial to improve the customer experience, Nelson has integrated advanced solutions to optimize the management of its Club Med data. The use of the Seenaptic platform is a perfect example of how he manages to navigate between regulatory compliance requirements and

cost imperatives.

Within Club Med, Nelson Fernandes manages a team dedicated to data analysis. With her, he ensures the configuration, monitoring and maintenance of branding plans on several platforms (B2C, B2B, mobile).

Its main challenge is to ensure the reliability of the data and its compliance with the GDPR in the face of frequent updates that risk disrupting tracking.

To achieve this, Nelson pursues 2 goals:

  • Optimizing the Customer Experience

It uses the data to personalize the service according to the cultural and individual specificities of the customers.

  • Automation via Seenaptic

It reduces human error, improves the coverage of non-regression tests, and ensures GDPR compliance.

Thanks to the adoption of automation technologies, Nelson Fernandes has succeeded in strengthening Club Med's data management, thus increasing the operational efficiency of his team and significantly improving the customer experience.

Nelson's experience highlights the importance of innovative solutions such as Seenaptic in resolving the complications associated with data analytics in the tourism sector.

This exchange took place in December 2023 with Xavier, our sales director, during a webinar for BigBoss365.

Xavier: Hi Nelson.

Nelson: Hi Xavier.

Xavier: Can you introduce yourself and explain your role at Club Med?

Nelson: I've been the head of the Analytics team at Club Med for almost six years, two and a half of them in this position. My team manages analytics: creating and monitoring tagging plans, managing reports and dashboards. We also ensure compliance with the GDPR, by ensuring that tags are only activated with user consent.

Xavier: Club Med is well known, but can you tell us what “digital” means to you?

Nelson: In the digital world, we support customers from inspiration to booking their vacation, to their stay in our resorts or on our yacht, Club Med 2. We manage around forty B2C websites and B2B sites. Our mobile application also helps the customer during their stay.

Xavier: Can you explain to us the importance of data in improving the customer experience?

Nelson: Data is critical. They help us understand and personalize the customer experience, by adapting our services according to their needs, whether for a couple without children or a family. We adjust our offers based on individual preferences.

Xavier: What are the main challenges associated with data collection?

Nelson: The biggest challenge is the reliability of the data. We must be sure of their quality for our analyses, especially for the continuous optimization of our site via CRO (ConversionRate Optimization). Compliance with the GDPR is also crucial, we need to ensure that data collection is done with consent.

Xavier: What difficulties do you encounter in ensuring quality data collection?

Nelson: Our site is constantly evolving, which can affect data tracking. It is vital to maintain reliable tracking to avoid errors that could affect the analysis of user behavior.

Xavier: Why did you choose to collaborate with Seenaptic?

Nelson: Seenaptic helps us automate and make our data collection more reliable. This makes it possible to cover more non-regression tests and improve GDPR compliance, by reducing potential human errors.

Xavier: In conclusion, how did SeeNaptic transform your approach?

Nelson: Seenaptic has allowed us to expand our testing and strengthen our compliance. This frees up time for higher value-added tasks and increases team satisfaction by automating repetitive tasks.

Xavier: Thanks Nelson.

Gouvernance Tracking : passer de la théorie à l'action
Governance Tracking: moving from theory to action

Tracking governance is based on two actions: describing what should be collected, then verifying that this is the case.

“Agree with the governance of Tracking. But concretely, where do we start? ”

This is the question that comes up after each exchange on the subject. And it's a good question: a better maintained tagging plan, controls before and after production, reliable KPIs... all this remains theoretical until we see what it looks like on a Tuesday morning.

In the twenty years that Netvigie has been working with Digital, Data and QA teams, we have almost always found the same four situations: a tagging plan that has expired, a handmade recipe before each release, alerts that we cannot prioritize, and brands that are each drifting their own way.

Here is what they give on a daily basis and what we respond to them.
